MFR is both relaxing and therapeutic. It addresses the body’s total balance. Torsions of the pelvis occur in 90-95% of women partly because our pelvises are wider and the joint surfaces are flatter. Aches and pains develop as the center of gravity (your pelvis) shifts forward in space. If the pelvis is off balance, everything must compensate throughout the entire body…to stay upright in gravity.
Regular treatment can allleviate many of your areas of tension and the stress, aches, and pains of pregnancy. Following delivery, it is vital to reassess and address the structural imbalances of your changing body…rebalancing the body in order to prevent further myofascial restriction problems.

Barbara has held a long time interest in pregnancy and women’s health issues, completing advanced training in health and pregnancy with the noted Elizabeth Noble, PT, The Woman’s Health Seminar with John Barnes, PT, and CranioSacral Applications for Conception, Pregnancy and Birthing through the Upledger Institute. Barbara developed & instructed prenatal exercise classes called “Toning for Two” and has taught classes in childbirth education locally on the topic of “Exercise & Comfort Measures During Pregnancy”.
