Please refer to Therapeutic Programs and Packages and learn about the highly valuable, discounted programs offered.
What are your appointment and cancellation policies?
Your scheduled appointment time is reserved for YOU and starts and ends on time! Please arrive a few minutes early and prepare for your session – breathe, relax in our peaceful, beautiful setting, use the restroom, and fill out OR download and bring in your Daily Progress Note/ Symptom Map. If you are late for your appointment, your session will still end at the scheduled time.
As MFR sessions at MFR of Central California are in high demand, kindly give 24 hour advance notice of appointment changes or cancellations for your treatment reservation. For all missed appointments OR cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled session, full payment is expected. A missed appointment will void a MFR package session or a gift certificate.
What conditions are helped with MFR?
The John Barnes Approach to Myofascial Release is a whole body treatment. Releasing the restrictions of the connective tissue which are causing your pain and tightness and ability to relax…often helps to reduce pain, improve mobility, and allows your system to calm down. Therefore, it can help with many, many symptoms and diagnoses. Please see OUR APPROACH and Our Services to learn about how we can help with your symptoms!
What can I expect during my first session of MFR?
Your initial session is 90 minutes in duration in which we talk about your current symptoms and your body’s trauma history. At that time, I will assess your body for fascial restrictions in your connective tissue and identify bracing and holding patterns that are pulling your body out of your normal balanced alignment. Then, we begin!
Women are treated in bra and underwear…or a tank top and loose shorts. Men are treated in loose shorts. Treatment will be done on a comfortable massage table but can also include upright positions or releases thru movement.
Please do not wear body lotion or perfume to your MFR session. MFR includes sustained pressure into restrictions in your connective tissues and, therefore, no lotions or oils are used with this approach of releasing your stuck spots. Please see our Comprehensive MFR Approach.
How long are regular sessions?
Your individualized treatment sessions can be 90, 60, or 30 minutes in duration. Clients commuting from the surrounding communities of Fresno, LA, Bakersfield, Merced, the Coast, or beyond…often choose longer sessions or even multiple sessions per day/days.
How many visits will it take to…..?
This is a really common question….but it is impossible to answer! MFR is an individualized, whole body approach. Every body is unique. Every body’s history of trauma is different. Each person comes in with a different stress level, body awareness, and ability to connect and stay present in treatment. Depending on the above mentioned, the severity of your symptoms, how long your restrictions have been present, and your personal goals will all determine the answer to “how many visits will it take…”
Through personal experience with receiving Myofascial Release for my personal pain and traumas AND through my experience with working with patients from all over the world at Therapy on the Rocks in Sedona, Az, I highly recommend the valuable multiple session treatment package options. These are designed to offer frequent, affordable session fees to those that are willing to commit to their healing. (Treatment packages)
